About This Course

This course is designed to help you understand Social Value in bidding for public sector contracts and how to meaningfully respond to them. Social Value can equate up to 10% of a bids final score so could make the difference between winning or losing.
Delivered in a practical and interactive way with tips on how to:

  • Understanding the Social Value Act and its objectives.

  • De-mystifying Social Value – what it is and is not!

  • How Social Value interacts with other themes such as corporate social responsibility, equality, diversity and inclusion, and carbon reduction.

  • Social Value categories and its relation to different sectors.

  • How to construct a Social Value response in bids.

  • Avoiding common Social Value pitfalls in bid responses.

  • Adopting an overall organisational Social Value strategy.

Course Content

  • Analysis: of the Social Value Act and Procurement Policy Note 06/20 (PPN 06/20).

  • Approach: to developing your contract Social Value commitment.

  • Understand: how to and Social Value questions across different sectors.

  • Writing: typical structure of Social Value question including Method Statement, Measurement and Reporting, Transparency and Influence.

  • Review: model Social Value responses to improve your response.

  • Challenges: overcoming your particular Social Value challenges with real-time advice.

  • Further Social Value tools and resources overview.
